Easy guitar tabs --you gotta start somewhere!
I wish I had access to easy guitar tabs when I was learning how to play. Nowadays they are all over the internet. Using guitar tablature seems to be the lazy way to learn. But so what! Use all of the tools out there.

There is a caveat though. A particular song you're trying to learn is the authors interpretation of that song. In other words, the song may look technically correct, but the person who tabbed it might have fudged certain parts he couldn't figure out. So I use tablature in conjunction with videos of the artist playing (they are everywhere on you tube), videos of others who have figured the song out and good old fashioned practice.
Anyways, easy guitar tabs are great for beginners. They give you the correct finger positions for the major chords. I'll give you a few examples later on of beginning tabs to get you started.
You will get the most out of easy guitar tabs by: - Following the finger positions (you can change this up depending on where you go from chord position to chord position)
- The more you practice, the more finger strength you'll get- this will help keep your fingers where they belong and minimize damping or accidentally fretting the wrong notes)
- Go here to check out more information on how to
play the guitar
- Practice, practice, practice!! Nuf said!
Check out Ultimate-guitar.com. They seem to have every song in existence. Look up your favorite group. There you will find tabs, Power tabs and
Guitar Pro
tabs. The tabs area will have the song tabbed out with the lyrics. This is the simplest place to start. They show the pictures of the tabs only, no playing along with the music.
Power tab and Guitar Pro require you download their respective programs. Power tab is free and Guitar Pro is a paid program. They both work relatively the same. I prefer Power tab because it sounds better.
